Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Time Zone Delta Calculator count days?
Calendar difference: end date minus start date, divided by the conversion to days. Doesn't account for time of day, just calendar dates. For business days only (excluding weekends), use the Business Days Calculator.
Inclusive or exclusive?
Exclusive of the start date. If you start Jan 1 and end Jan 2, the result is 1 day (just the gap), not 2 (both dates). To count both dates inclusively, add 1.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. JavaScript's Date object correctly handles leap years (Feb 29 on years divisible by 4, except century years not divisible by 400).
Why is my result off by 1?
Time zones. Both dates are interpreted at midnight UTC; if you're in a different timezone, the day boundary may shift by ±1 day. For exact calendar arithmetic, ensure both dates are in the same timezone format.
