Frequently Asked Questions

How much should I tip?

Standard US restaurant tipping: 15% for adequate service, 18% for good service, 20%+ for excellent service, calculated on the pre-tax subtotal. For delivery, 15-20% with a $3-5 minimum. Hair stylists and taxi/rideshare drivers: 15-20%.

How do I calculate electricity cost per month?

Multiply the appliance wattage by hours used per day, divide by 1,000 to get kWh, multiply by your rate (check your bill, US average is $0.12-0.16/kWh), then multiply by 30 days. Example: a 1,500W space heater used 8 hours/day at $0.12/kWh costs about $43/month.

Is an electric car cheaper to run?

Almost always. At typical 2025 rates, an EV costs about $0.03-0.04 per mile vs. $0.10-0.12 per mile for a gas car. Over 12,000 miles per year, that's roughly $400-500 for an EV vs. $1,200-1,400 for gas, saving about $800-1,000 annually on fuel alone.
